Antonio Barona is the responsible of the overall R&D, Innovation & Business strategy of the company. He holds a Bs in Civil Engineering, M.Sc. on Materials and Innovation, M.Sc. in Project Management. Mr. Barona has more than 10 years of experience in the coordination of international research. He is member of several international academic, business and research platforms dealing with Environmental and Energy Technologies for a Sustainable Future. In terms of international research cooperation, he has not only actively participated in several project proposals but has led the project Coordination of the FP7 projects: EE-QUARRY & S4EeB.
Ana-Maria Dubois holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Sustainability from Toulouse Business School and an M.A. in International Management from the Bradford University School of Management. She worked as sustainability and marketing manager in private companies in France and Latin America and as project manager at the Brazil UNEP Institute before joining Rio’s Federal University UFRJ as head of Social Innovation research in the environmental engineering department. She is experienced in lab to market strategy, Social LCA, marketing and sustainability strategy. Currently she is working as market and business strategist in Vertech Group
Dr Erasmo Cadena
Erasmo Cadena has a PhD in Environmental Science from Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB). He holds a Msc in Enviromental Engineering. Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Cambridge-UK and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), BarcelonaTech. He has experience in international research initiatives and his research interests include technical, environmental and economic analysis of new processes and high-performance. products, life cycle assessment, life cycle costs analysis.
Dr. Camilla Tomasetta
Camilla Tomasetta obtained a PhD in Economics and Management of Technology (DREAMT) from the University of Pavia. During her PhD project on Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment, she collaborated with the LCA Working Group from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and with the CIRAIG research Centre. She also holds a joint Master degree in Environmental Sciences with focus on Sustainable Development released by Ca’ Foscari University and Utrecht University. During and after her studies, she worked on the Life Cycle Assessment and waste field with research centres and private companies, such as Deltares and EcoInnovazione.
Marco Grippa has an extensive background (BSc and MSc) in Mechanical Engineer and he also holds an MSc in Energy for Smart Cities where he has been studying, as a double degree student, at both Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona with the major focus on sustainability and innovation, mostly related in energy sector. He worked for different start-ups related to renewable energies and environmental-friendly technologies. Currently working as Project Engineer in the execution’s team at Vertech Group, for several European projects regarding the Life Cycle Thinking approach implementation.
Dr Paola Castrillo
Paola Castrillo has a BSc. in food engineering, a BSc. in industrial engineering, a MSc in materials engineering and a Science and Materials Engineering PhD from Carlos III University of Madrid. From 2004 to the present she has been active in the preparation, management and coordination of several European R& D projects in the areas of sustainability, circular economy, high-grade materials, energy and resources efficiency. Her research interests include sustainability and circularity assessments of innovative value chains and capacity building on life cycle thinking. She is the Technical Coordinator of the CLOSEWEEE (H2020) and FFW (FP7) projects. Currently working as R&D Manager for Vertech Group. Dr. Castrillo is member of the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation, the Indian LCA Alliance and she contributes with the Iberoamerican Life Cycle Network, leading the creation of new LCA networks in Latin America. She contributes with the UNEP/SETAC LCA initiative and EC-JRC in different initiatives such as workshops on LCA Global Guidance Principles Conformance Assessment and Review of datasets. Mrs. Castrillo also participates in ISO International Workshops Agreements.

Claire LAI holds a Specialized MSc. in Strategy and Management of International Business at ESSEC Business School and a BSc. in Business Administration at National Taiwan University. She has worked as Corporate Strategy Analyst for a French pharmacy company LFB in France, and as Marketing Analyst to conduct both qualitative and quantitative market researches to help international companies from various sectors to identify consumer insights in Taiwan for more than two years. She is currently working at Sustainable Innovations Europe as Project Manager in the marketing team to help partners analyze the target markets and customize business strategies.
Dr. Luca Petruccelli
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Industrial system & Industrial design from the Polytechnic of Turin in 2013 having previously completed a Post degree Master in Environmental Engineering and a Master in System Design (eco-design). More than six years of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) experience both within consultancy environments as well within the development of web-based systems for LCA and Environmental Impact Assessment. Experienced Project Manager in collaborative R&D EU and UK project. Luca previously worked within the Eco-data team at Granta Design where Luca had a particular focus on the management of reference data to support Granta tools for product level reporting of environmental impacts, restricted substances legislation, critical and conflict minerals, price volatility and the circular economy.
Santiago Torres Torija
Santiago holds a Bs in Business Administration, with a double major in Global Business & Entrepreneurship and minor in Education at Suffolk University (Boston, USA). Santiago also holds a Ms in Management, with a specialization in Sales & Marketing at IE Business School (Madrid, Spain). Santiago has extensive international knowledge working in business development and innovation over the past four years. His experience is well diversified in the fields of commodity trading, health/nutrition, solar energy, and startup ecosystems.
Jesus has extensive knowledge and expertise in the area of EU funding and project management both at the national and international level, and relevant expertise in the field of results exploitation. From Sustainable Innovations, he leads the R&D department for the market uptake of innovative solutions which could find a fast market niche. His European collaborative expertise makes him a key role in the dissemination of the results and the definition of the best channels to exploit the project results. He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Planning and Management by Aalborg University in (Denmark), he holds a Bs in Energy Civil Engineering in Via University College (Denmark) and another Bs specialization in Sustainable Engineering.
